Water Quality & Udder Health
Private water sources are a great way to lower water costs on dairy farms, but failure to routinely monitor and address water quality issues can lead to problems with udder health. As such, it’s vital that any non-mains water sources used in and around the parlour are tested for bacteria levels every 6 to 12 months. This dairy insight looks at the risks surrounding private water supplies, potential issues with mains water, how to monitor contamination and how to address any problems that arise.
