Calf Housing Farming Note

It is estimated that more than 6% of calves die before they reach six months of age, most of these losses occur in the first month of the calves’ life and many are a result of poor housing. Rearing calves in the correct environment will reduce losses and improve growth rates. This Farming Note will concentrate on housing the calf from birth through to weaning.

Issued December 2017
