Matthew and his family run a herd of 400 year round calving Holsteins. The herd which is grazed in the summer and fed a maize and grass silage based diet in winter has an average yield of 9,300 litres/cow. The cows are milked twice a day through a 24:48 Fullwood parlour with ADF clusters. Matthew says “We have two working in the parlour to keep milking times under three hours and to ensure we stick to our set milking routine protocols!”
