Farm Biosecurity in Practice
This is a self-eLearning course designed to teach you about good biosecurity and what roles you and others play nationally and internationally to protect your farm and business through engaging in biosecurity measures.
At the end of the course you should be feel confident to look at your own farm business, identify what risks are present externally and internally on the farm and where you can control if not eliminate those risk, to prevent new infections and the spread of existing diseases on farm.
Learning Outcomes:
•Why is biosecurity important in livestock disease control, improving health and welfare, reduce antibiotic need, increase productivity and sustainability and reduce negative environmental impact.
•What does biosecurity means in the context of a farm business
•To be able to review biosecurity risk on your farm
•To be able to identify areas where the introduction of biosecurity measures can eliminate or reduce the risk of introducing disease
•To be able to implement biosecurity measures to enhance endemic disease control/ eradication and improve bio-containment
The course can be done at your own pace, you will not have to complete the course all at once.
